Brenda Gough Shankle

Barlow, KY, On Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:15 a.m. Brenda Gough Shankle left us to be with her Lord and Maker, Jesus Christ. Brenda was born on Sept. 11, 1950 to Forrest and Ella Mae Gough and live in Ballard County, KY all of her life. She was a Ballard County High School graduate and also a graduate of Drauns Business College. She was the office manager of Lifecare Center of LaCenter for many years until she retired in 2001. Brenda was an avid fisherman, loved to work in her flower garden, and spend time with her family. She attended church at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in LaCenter where she volunteered as the church secretary for many years and helped with the food pantry. Brenda is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wallace Shankle. and resided Barlow, KY for the last 30 years; one daughter, Angela Shankle Allen and husband Greg Goodlettsville, TN; two stepchildren, Jan Shankle Hinman and husband Dan of St. Augestine, FL and Scott Shankle and wife Cindy of Barlow, KY; two sisters Mary Nell Dunn of Paducah, KY and Shirley Marshall of LaCenter, KY; six grandchildren and six step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Judy Buchanan. Funeral services for Brenda will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in LaCenter, KY starting at 1:00 p.m. Father Emanuel Udoh will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Food Pantry, 624 Broadway, LaCenter, KY 42056. Brenda and Wallace’s big adventure was when they rode out west with their dear friends on their motorcycle in 2005, which took them through many western states and covered 3200 miles. Brenda loved her church, her family, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
