Kevil, KY Judge Robinson passed away Wednesday 9th of May at his home known as Eagle Rest Plantation in Kevil, Kentucky he was 79 yrs. old. He was a 1956 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School, graduated with honors from University of Kentucky in 1961, furthering his education at University of Kentucky College of Law in 1967 following service in the U.S. Army during the Berlin Crisis as an Infantry Captain. He began his career in 1967 as a trial lawyer for Kentucky Highway Department before rapidly being elevated to the position of General Counsel and Assistant Attorney General for the Transportation till 1974. In 1972 he was presented a Special Merit Award by the Secretary of Transportation and Commissioner of the Bureau of Highways for implementing policy changes resulting in an annual savings of $860K to the Kentucky Transportation budget. Robinson served as District Judge for the 1st District, then later the 59th District comprised of Ballard and Carlisle counties from 1978 till 1996. Retired in 1996 to become a full time farmer of his family’s Sesquicentennial Farm of over 500 acres in Kevil, KY Preceded in death by his wife of 31 yrs. Dr. Charlene Robinson and his parents Trilby & Werdna Robinson. Survived by his brother Robert C. Robinson and wife Delores, nephew Wade Robinson and wife Jennifer and great nieces Hannah and Kayla Robinson. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in LaCenter, KY With Rev. Brian Steward officiating. Interment will follow at Mounds City National Cemetery In Mounds, ILL with Military Honors. Visitation will be Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in LaCenter.
