Wayne Cooper

Kevil, KY Wayne Cooper, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home on Arpil 24, 2018. Born in Bandana, KY to W. O. (Buck) Cooper and Kathleen Colvin Cooper on December 13, 1942, he was a 1960 graduate of Ballard Memorial High School and attended Paducah Junior College. Mr. Cooper spent the majority of his career in St. Louis, Mo at McDonnell Douglas retiring as a supervisor. He returned to Ballard County in 1998 and worked in construction safety at USEC. Wayne was a Shriner and member of the Moolah Temple in St. Louis serving as President in 1981 and was President of the YOMO Committee that same year. He was currently serving as a Trustee on the Ballard Telephone Cooperative Board of Directors. He attended the LaCenter Christian Church. Mr. Cooper is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Tilford Cooper; Daughter Sherry (Tommy) Pfuhl of Wright City, MO; Stepson Jeff (Vickie) Gough of LaCenter, KY; Grandsons Andrew and Sean Pfuhl of Wright City MO and Jordan (Bridget) and Tyler Gough of LaCenter, KY; Sister Agnes (Glenn) Allen of Jefferson City, MO; Brothers Jerry (Phyllis) Cooper of LaCenter and Larry (Angie) Cooper of Bandana, KY and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Cooper will be Friday, April 27 from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Chris Cooper and Rev. Austin Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mr. Cooper’s grandsons and nephews Jason Cooper and Brian Burkett. Honorary pallbearers will be member of the Ballard Telephone Company Board of Directors; Randy Grogan, CEO/GM; Mickey Davis, Jack Giles, Mike Jones, Peggy Meriedith, Durwood Whipple and Joe B. Whipple, Trustees and Mark Medlin, Attorney. In Lieu of flowers the family request memorial gifts be sent to Hope Lodge 2008 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN 37203.
