Kevil, KY—Alton "Sonny" Youngblood, 91, passed away on July 26, 2026, at Fulton Nursing and Rehabilitation in Fulton, KY. Born on March 24, 1935, in Kevil, KY, he was the beloved son of the late Clayton and Mary Elizabeth (Helton) Youngblood.

A dedicated diesel mechanic, Alton spent his life repairing heavy equipment and farm machinery. He was the proud owner and operator of Youngblood & Son Diesel Repair. Known across Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri, and beyond, Alton was a pillar in his community. He cherished camping trips with his "honey" in Paris, TN, had a passion for Ford trucks, and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. Alton also had a deep love for animals. He enjoyed family gatherings and always made sure everyone had plenty to eat.

He is survived by his sons, Charles Youngblood (Cindy) of West Paducah, KY, and James Youngblood of Kevil, KY; his sisters, Betty Skowronek (Charlie) of Indianapolis, IN, Joyce Augustus of Paducah, KY, and Janice Weitlauf (Curt) of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Shane Youngblood (Jessica), Ashley Youngblood of West Paducah, KY, and Candace Youngblood of Paducah, KY; and six great-grandchildren, Preston Youngblood, Hailey Youngblood, Lagen Craven, Jordyn Craven, Morgan McKnight, and Skye Youngblood.

Alton was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Youngblood; his parents, and siblings Jimmy Youngblood and Peggy Woodford.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5-8 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY. Funeral services will follow on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Palestine Cemetery.
