Obituary

Paducah, KY Angie Ruth Mitchum, age 84, passed away on Saturday morning, May 11, 2024 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY. She was born to her late parents, William and Ruth Lee (McQuary) on January 19, 1940 in Hickman, KY.

Angie was employed for several years with the Fulton County Board of Education as teacher's aid and secretary. She was employed for over 20 years and retired from the Housing Authority in Hickman. Angie enjoyed listening to gospel music, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and also a UK Basketball fan. Angie loved her family, her Lord and her church family.

She is survived by two sons, Corky Hodge of Paducah, John Mitchum Hodge (Phyliss) of Paducah, KY; three brothers John Mitchum of Charleston, South Carolina, Maurice Mitchum of Hickman, and Lawrence Mitchum of Plymouth, Michigan; three sisters, Kitty Mitchum of Hickman, Martha Dale Loschiavo of Horn Lake, Mississippi; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Angie was preceded in death by and infant son; two sisters, Marion Moffitt and Betty Reeves and her parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, May 14, 2024 at Sassafrass Ridge Baptist Church from 5-7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 15 from 11:00 until funeral time.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Sassafras Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Southerland and Rev. Crowell officiating. Interment will follow at Hickman City Cemetery.
