Paducah, KY Barbara Elizabeth (Jones, Ray) Mix, ( affectionately know as Granny Barb) 86 of Paducah, has gone to be with her heavenly Father on this day, Monday, September 30, 2019. Barbara loved life and was always committed to helping others first. She was retired from Sears & Roebuck, but her passion was taking care of her family and friends. She was a Christian in every way and a member of Broadway Church of Christ in her early years while married to Gene Ray her first husband, now deceased. Barbara loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She was a true role model for how Mothers should be. She loved painting landscapes, crocheting, fishing, and walking on the beach and collecting seashells with her husband Gary. She will be missed dearly by all. Barbara was preceded in death by her son Mike Ray of Paducah, KY, husband Gary Mix of Cocoa FL, her parents Harry O and Lena Lorene Jones of Smithland KY, one brother Harry Jones and Patsy of Warren, Michigan, brother-in-law Henry "Hank" Hart of Salem,, KY. One sister Earlene Hart of Smithland, KY and Sister-in-law Janette Jones of Cocoa, Florida. Barbara is survived by one son; Howard (Betsy) Ray of Chattanooga, TN, one daughter; Cindy (Don) Corder of Kevil, KY. Siblings; Alan "Buddy" (Thea) Jones of Smithland, KY, Howard "Max"Maxwell Jones of Cocoa FL, Linda (Freddie) Ladd of Smithland, KY. Two grandchildren; Alison Ray of Nashville, TN, and Cody Burkholder of Lexington, KY. Several Nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until funeral time at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY. With the Rev. John Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Dyer Hill Cemetery in Smithland KY.
