Obituary

Billy Dean Draper, a faithful servant of the Lord and respected community member, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on November 13, 1934, Mr. Draper went to be with his Lord and Savior, leaving behind a legacy defined by kindness, faith, and dedication.

Billy Dean Draper was a proud Army veteran, having served in Germany during his military tenure. After his service, he devoted 14 years of his career as a parts salesman at Royal Oaks Chevrolet, earning respect for his integrity and commitment. His love for music was evident in his joy of playing the guitar, and he found great pleasure in spending time fishing at Okeechobee, where he would annually enjoy a month of retreat. A passionate supporter of UK Basketball, he carried his enthusiasm for the sport throughout his life.

Beyond his work and hobbies, Billy was deeply involved in his church community at Ohio Valley Baptist Church. He served with pride and humility as a deacon and bore the responsibility of choir director for many years. Additionally, he dedicated himself as a Sunday School teacher, nurturing faith and spirituality in others with great devotion.

He was known as a kind and sweet man who loved the Lord and cherished spending time with his family. His life was marked by love, faith, and service.

Billy Dean Draper is survived by his loving wife, Judith Draper of LaCenter, KY; his two devoted sons, Terry Draper of LaCenter, KY and Kevin Draper and his wife Teresa of LaCenter, KY; and his cherished daughter, Debra Bean and her husband Mike of Louisville, KY. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Jason Taylor, Kyle McKean, Kyle Draper, Derek Draper, and Hannah Draper, who carry forward his memory and spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Draper; his sister, Phyllis Newton; his brother, Jimmy Joe Draper; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on June 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral Service will be held on June 23, 2026 at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joey Donelson officiating.

Interment will follow at Barlow Cemetery.

Billy Dean Draper’s life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and dedication. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his influence and legacy will endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
