LACENTER, KY; Cloys Henderson, age 89, passed away on November 19, 2016 at home on the family farm after a short illness. Cloys was born in La Center, KY on November 22, 1926, graduated from Ballard County High School and married his sweetheart, Laurel Samples Henderson, on September 3, 1944. He was preceded in death by his son Paul Marshall Henderson on May 23, 2005, his mother and father, Mary and Forest Henderson and one brother, Forest Burns Henderson. Cloys is survived by his wife, Laurel after 72 years of marriage, two children; Ann Henderson Mullins, and David Kendal Henderson (Gloria J), and one daughter-in-law, Lyn Henderson Anderson. He was blessed with three Grandchildren; Staci Lyn Henderson, Christie J. Thompson, and Corey K. Henderson (Tara); and two Great Grandchildren, Anna Grace Thompson and Colby Kendal Henderson. Cloys was a WWII veteran and a lifelong farmer in Ballard County well known and respected by his peers. He loved and cherished his family. After his son, Paul died he assumed responsibility for Paul's wife Lyn and Granddaughter Staci Lyn. He loved to fish with Paul and friends in Florida, and with his Brother-In-Law, Bill in the mountains of Colorado. After retirement he enjoyed winters fishing in Big Pine Key, FL, and summers spent traveling in the western states usually in the mountains. He also toured the New England States, Alaskan wilderness and the Canadian provinces in his motor home for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
