Zionsville , IN - Cora Ruth Moss, 91, went to be with her Lord on September 26, 2023, at the Meadows of Zionsville, Indiana. She was born on October 4, 1931, to Clay and Floy Powell in Marshall County, Kentucky. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles W. Moss, on August 24, 1948. They made their home in Elkhart, Indiana, where they raised five children.

Cora was a homemaker and was also employed at CTS Corporation for 18 years. She was a creative seamstress, sewing clothing and quilts for family members and friends. For a short period of time, she owned a needlework shop in Elkhart called The Moss Patch where she taught cross stitch and quilting. For her last few years of employment, Cora provided home health care services.

Cora and Charles enjoyed hosting family get-togethers. She was famous for her homemade ice cream, potato salad, and date bars, to name a few. Cora shared her enjoyment of sewing, canning, and baking with her daughter, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters. She and Charles were longtime members of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church in Elkhart. Following retirement, they moved to LaCenter, Kentucky, where they faithfully attended First Baptist Church. In 2014, Charles and Cora moved to Zionsville, Indiana, to be closer to be closer to family.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Melva (James) Nance, Delilah (Frank) Davis, Jessie (Terry) Jones, Anna (Robert) Crice; and brothers, Carl (Jean) Powell; and Wallace (Erna) Powell. Also preceding Cora were Charles, her husband of 72 years, and son Stephen Craig Moss.

She is survived by brother; Dewey (Lynda) Powell of Kevil, Kentucky; daughter, Janet (Tom) Little of Goshen, Indiana; and sons, Randy (Julie) Moss of Zionsville, Indiana, Brent (Debbie) Moss of Edmond, Oklahoma and David (Debbie) Moss of Pearland, Texas. She was blessed with 17 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Cora lovingly made quilts and a special Christmas stockings for each of them as long as she was able.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with the Rev. Mark Sickling officiating. Interment will follow at LaCenter Cemetery.
