LaCenter, Ky. Dewey Knight, age 93, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday morning at Life Care in LaCenter, Ky. He was born March 1, 1922. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Dorothy Knight of LaCenter, Ky. Two daughters, Susan Minton of Columbia, Ky., and Denise Knight of Kevil, Ky. Three grandchildren, Matt Minton and his wife Michelle of Sweeden, Ky., Brandon Minton and his wife MacKenzie of Columbia, Ky. and Kaleena Dowdy of Kevil, Ky. Five great grandchildren Jaxon Minton, Branson Minton, Bryson Minton, Collyn Dowdy and Keaton Dowdy. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Lee and Tula Ann Knight. Dewey was a member of First Baptist Church of LaCenter, Ky. He was a World War II Veteran where he served in the Army in the South Pacific. He was a member of Iron Workers Local Union # 782 from 1951 to 1984 when he retired. He served on the Iron Workers Executive Board for many years. He was also, a lifetime member of Antioch Masonic Lodge # 332 and was a past Commander for the American Legion LaCenter Post. Dewey was very passionate about clocks, he enjoyed collecting and repairing clocks of all kinds, he also loved antiques of all sorts. Visitation will be Wednesday Evening from 5-8 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, Ky. Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, Ky. with the Rev. Mark Sickling and Rev. Don Pippin officiating.
