LaCenter, KY, Donald Ray Alvey, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his family. Ray was born in Oscar, KY on March 6, 1946, to his late parents, Royce and Nina Lucille (Barnes) Alvey.

Ray worked for Rudy's Farm Center for 22 years and the Ballard County Road Department as the assistant manager until he retired. In his early years he enjoyed fishing, and he loved to visit with people.

Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kay Alvey of LaCenter, KY; two sons, Jeff Alvey (Sherry) of LaCenter, KY and Tim Alvey (Judi) of Newnan, GA; one sister, Lena Bell Craft of Kevil, KY; three grandchildren, Morgan Alvey, Tyler Alvey and Jordan Alvey Smith; one great grandchild, Leighton Ray Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, after 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at LaCenter Cemetery in LaCenter, KY with Bro. Jack Rudy officiating.
