LaCenter, Ky. Donald Wayne Hughes ( Chigger) , age 73, of LaCenter died Tuesday morning at 2:29 a.m. at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. Chigger was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, He retired from trucking. Chiggger was an Army Veteran. He was and avid golfer and he loved Ballard County Country Club. He loved people and you could find him any day at the Bluegrass Restaurant or at Rex Powells Service Center in LaCenter. He is survived by his partner of 15 years Gayle Hogan of LaCenterand her two children and five Grandchildren, three daughters Dana Smith of Oran, Missouri, Dena Tolbert of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Donya Wheat of Cape Girarteau, Missouri. Five Grandchildren and Eleven Great Grandchildren. Chigger was preceded in death by one brother Kenny Hughesand his parents R. A. and Valeine Jett Hughes. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter with the Rev. Drew Gray and Rex Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 Saturday until funeral time at 2:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter.
