KEVIL, KY: Helen P. Warford, age 74, died Friday, January 22 at her home in Kevil after an extended illness. She was born June 16, 1941 to John Henry and Nellie Studer Peterson. She was of the Catholic faith. She was a retired registered nurse and worked many years at Oakview Manor in Possum Trot, KY. Helen was an avid birdwatcher and her favorites were the hummingbirds she so faithfully feed in her yard. She was fond of gardening and loved to sew.. She was a scout leader and 4-H leader for both of her children during their younger years and alternated between their classrooms as a room mother from year to year. Helen was known for sending greeting cards to her friends for every occasion. She enjoyed Suduko and jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite hobby was her grandchildren. To say she adored them would be putting it lightly. Helen is survived by her husband, Lisle Brent Warford of Kevil; one son, John Brent Warford and his wife, Jennifer, of Florence, KY; one daughter, Mary N. Warford of Florence, KY; two grandchildren, Regan Layne and Ian Henry Brent Warford of Florence, KY; one brother, Charles Thomas Peterson of Kentucky; and two sisters, Dody Condon of Wisconsin and Katy Jolly of Arizonia. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nellie Peterson; one brother, John Henry Peterson and three sisters, Natalie Gammon, Shirley Pace and Charlotte Dempewolf. Visitation for Helen P. Warford will be Tuesday, January 26 at Morrow Funeral Chapel of Kevil from 6 to 8 P.M. Visitation will also be from 12 noon to 1 P.M. at Newton Creek Baptist Church in Kevil on January 27 with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m.at the church. Rev. Marty Brown will be officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Creek Baptist Cemetery. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Newton Creek Baptist Cemetery Fund.
