Kevil, Ky. James Richard ( Dick) Ashby, age 87, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 3:16 a.m. at Baptist Health in Paducah. Dick was a member of Bandana United Methodist Church. He was a World War II and Korean War Army Veteran. He had been past administrator for Ballard County Ambulance and DES Administrator for Ballard County for several years. He was retired from Federal Aviation Administration after 27 1/2 years. He was a member of North Ballard Masonic Lodge #537 for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Frances Young Ashby of Kevil and one daughter Susie Ashby of Paducah. Dick was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and his parents Wayne and Anna Mae Ashby. Funeral Services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter with the Rev. Kenny Locke officiating. Imerment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
