LaCenter, Ky. James L. Freeman, age 88, of LaCenter passed away gently on
February 24, 2016 at his home with his wife and family by his side.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaCenter. He served in the U. S.
Army in World War II in Okinawa. When he returned home, he married Betty
Hack, his
wife for 68 years. He attended Murray State University where he earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. James worked and retired from USAEC
in Paducah, Ky. as a Time Keeper and Buyer
with 32 years of company service. He was a charter member and past
president of Ballard County Country Club, Mayor of LaCenter, and a member
of Antioch Masonic Lodge # 332 for 60 plus years.
He was an avid sportsman enjoying golf, hunting, fishing and basketball.
James is survived by his wife, Betty ( Hack) Freeman; two nieces Karen Suber
of Quincy, Florida and Kathy Kirk of Houston, Texas. One nephew, Bill
Freeman and his wife Gale of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by several
nieces and nephews from LaCenter and surrounding area.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Ira Freeman and Mary Lou Doty
Freeman. Two brothers Tom Doty Freeman and his wife Betty ( Northington)
and Dan Walter Freeman and his wife Sachiko Matsumato. One infant Sister
Celia Freeman.
Masonic Rites will be Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Visitation after 9:00 a.m.
Saturday at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, Ky.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Morrow Funeral
Chapel in LaCenter with the Rev. Mark Sickling officiating. Interment will
follow at LaCenter Cemetery with
Military Rites.
