LaCenter, KY Jerry Newton, age 77 died December 30, 2018 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, KY. Jerry is survived by his Mother Roberta Payne of LaCenter, KY, one grandson Cody Newton of Kevil, and several aunts , uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Tony Newton and his father Robert (Bus) Newton. Jerry was of the Baptist faith and attended LaCenter First Baptist Church. He was baptized at the middle landing at Big Turner Lake located in the Ballard County Refuge. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Paducah, KY. Jerry worked as District Manger for the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet over the seven western Kentucky Counties for 39 years. He retired in 1999. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of LaCenter on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of LaCenter on Wednesday January 2, 2019 with the Rev. Brian Steward officiating. Interment will take place at LaCenter Cemetery.
