Obituary

Salem, KY Joe Edd Chandler, it's with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joe Edd Chandler. He passed away at Salem Spring Lake Nursing Home in Salem, KY on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Joe Edd who rode through life with Freedom in his soul, wind at his back and an unwavering love of the open road.

He was born June 16, 1944, to his late parents; W. A. "Pete" and Fannie Mae Toombs Chandler. Joe Edd loved life boldly and fully. Whether behind the handlebars of a beloved Harley Davidson or surrounded by family and friends. Joe Edd was more than a rider, he was part of a brotherhood built on strength, loyalty, respect and freedom. The roar of a Harley was not just a sound to Joe Edd it was peace, passion and home. He was a quintessential Harley Davidson Rider and active member of Harley Owner's Group.

Joe Edd grew up in Monkey's Eyebrow and spent his early years farming. He was a member of the North Ballard Masonic Lodge #537. He grew up attending the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and is now a member of the Free Spirit Biker's Church in Paducah. He was employed for many years with Harley Davidson, selling and working on the bikes. He retired from Livingston County School system as a bus driver. Joe Edd was a Duke of Paducah and a Kentucky Colonel.

Joe Edd is survived by three daughters; Jodee Chandler (Dave Harshman) of Paducah, KY, Meshea Swords (Mike) of Nashville, TN and Kim Dawn of Greenville, Indiana; also, a bonus daughter, Cierra Henry of Murray, KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sheilia Chandler and his parents.

A Masonic service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Veterans of Foreign Wars in Paducah, KY at 11:00 a.m.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1191, 1727 Washington Street in Paducah, KY 42003.
