LaCenter, KY. Joe Moss Cooper, age 77, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at 6:45 a.m. at Life Care Center in LaCenter, KY. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church of LaCenter KY. for 55 years where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for several years and also serve as Deacon for 45 years. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Joe served as Board member on the Ballard Rural Telephone Company Board for 27 years. He was former Mayor of LaCenter. Through the years he was affiliated with several businesses in Ballard County, Fin and Feather Restaurant, Whipple's Grocery, Cooper Grocery and Graves Brothers. He retired from Graves Brothers in 2004 after suffering a stroke. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Maggie Jo Morehead Cooper of LaCenter, KY., one daughter Rhonda Dianne Roberts of Murray, KY. Two grandsons, (the dudes), Christopher Logan Roberts and his wife Tyler of Paducah, KY. and Kelsey Ross Roberts of Murray, KY. Extended family, Christiana Kartapanis of Tampa, Fl. Three brothers Charles (Shorty) Cooper and his wife Joyce of Lexington, KY., Danny Cooper and his wife Charlotte of Paducah, KY., and Dick Cooper and his wife Denise of Wickliffe, KY. Three sisters Mildred Duley of Crittenden, KY., Sally Cooper of Bowling Green, KY. and Susie Murray and her husband Jerry of Dallas, TX. Several nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Cooper and Bob Cooper. One sister Ann Weir and his parents Bennie and Vivian Cooper. Visitation will be Tuesday evening after 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in LaCenter. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in LaCenter with the Rev. Mark Bond and the Rev. Mark Sickling officiating.
