Obituary

LaCenter, KY John Leonard Carlson, 64, formerly of Marquette, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.

John was born on February 27, 1960, to Clifford and Lucille Carlson. He built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family. He was a dedicated husband to his beloved wife, CJ (Carol) Carlson, with whom he shared 30 wonderful years.

John was a proud father to his son, John Robert Carlson and his daughters, Crystal, (Michael) Westcott, Shannon (Sam) Wilcox, and Amanda (Wes) Graves. He was also a cherished grandfather to 18 grandchildren, who brought him immense joy to his life. John is survived by his brother, Wayne Carlson (Gerald) of Laguna, California, and his sister, Mag Donaldson (Barb) of San Francisco, California. a sister-in-law, Janet Deziel (Chuck) of Baraga, Michigan, two nieces, Myranda Deziel of L'Anse, Michigan and Jessica Deziel-Budzil of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lucille Carlson, his siblings, Sue Puig and Jim Carlson, his granddaughter, Ella Westcot and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Loretta Golden.

John's Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with the Rev. Brian Overstreet officiating. His family and friends will gather to honor his life and the many memories they shared with him.

John will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, his love for music, and the love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
