MARION, IL: John "Jay" Dewey Lowe III, age 48, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. He was born August 23, 1968 to John Dewey and Theresa Ann Basham Lowe. He was a member of the United States Navy and worked as an Aviation Structural Mechanic on the U.S.S. Enterprise. He was of the Methodist faith. He loved to help people, loved children and dogs, was a great cook, enjoyed fishing and was passionate about his music. He is survived by his mother, Theresa Walker of Kevil, KY; one son, Zachary Lowe of Villa Rica, GA; his maternal grandmother, Betty Basham of Barlow; one sister, Christina "Nina" Hasty of Paducah, KY and one grandson, Benjamin Lowe. He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Lowe, Jr; his maternal grandfather, George Basham, and his paternal grandparents, John D. and Mae Ellen Lowe. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017 at Morrow Funeral Chapel of LaCenter beginning at 12 P.M.. and ending at 3:00 P.M. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 P.M. with Cindy Engelhardt officiating. Interment will folllow at Barlow Cemetery, Barlow, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to Morrow Funeral Chapel.
