LaCenter, KY Lou Nelle Strickland, age 90, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at Life Care Center in LaCenter, KY. She was born in Barlow, KY on September 9, 1934, to her late parents, Albert and Lucille (Martin) Mudd.

Lou Nelle was a member of First Baptist Church of LaCenter, KY since 1955. She became a consultant with Mary Kay in 1979. She was a member of Town and Country Homemakers since 1969 and spent many years volunteering at the Ballard County Extension Office. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, especially cruises, and helping her friends and family. She will be remembered for her loving and caring spirit.

Lou Nelle is survived by one son, Tim Strickland of LaCenter, KY; one daughter, Susie Strickland Nutt of LaCenter, KY; three grandchildren, Graham Harper (Abby) of LaCenter, KY, Paige Plummer (Cullen) of Georgetown, South Carolina, Michaela Nutt (Thomas Fowler) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; six great grandchildren, Cullen H. Plummer, Gideon Plummer, Harlowe Plummer, Jude Harper, Samuel Harper and Nora Harper.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Paul Strickland; one sister, Alberta Smith; sister-in-law Reba Strickland Kraps and her parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at First Baptist Church of LaCenter at 1:00 p.m. with Rev Jason Hay officiating.

Interment will follow at La Center Cemetery.
