Barlow, KY, Michael Johnston, age 72, passed away on March 21, 2025. He was born on August 20, 1952, in Cairo, Illinois to his late parents, Edward Johnston and Lois Wilkinson Johnston.

Michael, a machinist, retired from Walkers Boat Yard. After retirement he owned and operated his Machine Shop in Barlow. Outside of work he thoroughly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. Michael loved to collect knives. He was known and will be remembered by his family, as the glue that held it all together. Family was of utmost importance to Michael, and he loved them all very dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Frieda Johnston of Barlow, KY; two daughters, Tammy Jo Worley (David) of Barlow and Kayla McCain of Barlow; one brother, David Alan Johnston (Sarah) of Beavercreek, Ohio; one sister, Debra Egner (Lynn) of Summerville, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Gina Rene Worley, Brittany Ringstaff, David Michael Worley, Adriana Worley, Breana Worley and Somer Pennebaker; seven great-grandchildren, Gannon Caneer, Jourdyn Worley, Jaelyn Worley, Jemma Worley, Aubriella Haws, Cason Ringstaff and Dallas Rushing.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter beginning at 10:00 a.m. until funeral time.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Fickes officiating.

Interment will follow at Barlow Cemetery.
