Hickman, KY Morris Thomas Mitchum, age 83, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born in Fulton County, KY on November 18, 1942, to his late parents, William Marion and Ruth Lee (McCreery) Mitchum.

Morris was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church. Growing up he attended Western High School. Morris was a very talented mechanic and precision machinist. His past employment included a plant in Arkansas and construction work in Austin, TX where he constructed various buildings.

He is survived by a brother, John Mitchum of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Kitty Mitchum of Hickman, KY and Martha Dale Loschiavo of Hickman, KY.

Morris was preceded in death by two sons, Morris Thomas Mitchum Jr. and William Anthony Mitchum; a brother, Lawrence Mitchum; three sisters, Marion Louise Moffitt, Betty Kate Reeves, Angie Mitchum and his parents.

Visitation will be held at Walnut Log Baptist Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until funeral time at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Charles Southerland will officiate the service.

Interment will follow at Hickman City Cemetery.
