Kevil, Ky. Robert Benton, age 100 died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 2:54 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Robert was a Master Mason, North Ballard Masonic Lodge # 537. He coached the Forrestdale Basketball Team in 1957. He played on the Kentucky Pioneers Basketball Team. Paw Paw Benton loved going to any Ballgames. He was a Kentucky Wildcat Fan and supported the Heath Pirates/ McCracken County Mustangs to the fullest. He loved being outdoors. He could be found driving through the game reserves, or camping and fishing. He will be missed by many. Robert is survived by two sons; Del Benton and his wife, Cindy of Kevil, and Ed Benton of Kevil, and daughter-in-law, Lisa Benton of Kevil. One siste,r Gladys Powell of Texas. Eight Grandchildren; Della Reagan, Benita Reed, Dwayne Benton, Dwight Benton, Sheila Davis, Brian Benton, Shannon Benton and Debra Dowdy. Sixteen Great Grandchildren and 7 1/2 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Benton, one son, Walter Benton, one Granddaughter, Shelly Hardeman, one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Benton, seven brothers, two sisters and his parents, Newton and Alice Benton. Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter with the Rev. Keith Tilford and Rev. Randy Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday Evening from 5-8 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.morrowfuneralchapel.com.
