Wickliffe, KY Robert F. Lanier, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation in Metropolis, IL. He was born April 6,1939 in Paducah, KY to his late parents, Louis Hahs and Carrie Elizabeth (Thompson) Lanier.

Bob was a member of Ohio Valley Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years. He was ordained a deacon in 1974 and served as interim pastor for Ohio Valley Baptist Church and Antioch Baptist Church for several years. Bob served in the Air Force during the Vietnam Era and retired after 20 years as Senior Master Sargeant. He was stationed in seven different states and also served and taught in five countries.

Bob was a Master Electrician and owned and operated L&L Heating and Air for several years. He served Ballard County as Electrical Inspector for 25 years. Bob loved his Lord and Savior and would talk to anyone about his faith. His hobbies were collecting tractors, McDonald toys, knives and baseball cards. Wilma and Bob enjoyed traveling together and traveled all over the United States.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilma Lanier of Wickliffe, KY; a son, Steven Lanier of West Paducah, KY; a daughter, Lori Lanier of Paducah, KY; two grandchildren, Sam Lanier of Palm Beach, FL and Tim Lanier (Jennifer) of Nashville, TN; three sisters, Lynn Renfrow of LaCenter, KY, Rosie Gough (Freddie) of Mayfield, KY and Kathy Cherry (Lynn) of Knoxville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until funeral time.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Jones officiating.

Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery with full Military Honors.
