Paducah, KY. Robert ( Rob) Semler, age 44, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Rob was born in Hancock, Michigan on July 18, 1973. He graduated from Ballard Memorial High School and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout with a Gold Palm with Troop 66 of Barlow, Kentucky. After graduation, Rob continued on to become a talented journeyman electrician through Local #816 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). He was a member of the IBEW for 24 years and contracted, most recently, as foreman for Beltline Electric. Rob was a free spirit with a passion for the outdoors who exemplified the Boy Scout Motto- "BE PREPARED". He especially enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing, and hiking. Through most of his life, Rob struggled with a severe form of Crohn's Disease; however, he didn't let that define him. He remained a kind, selfless individual willing to sacrifice himself, regardless of the situation, to help his family, friends, and community. Rob will be remembered fondly by his daughter Eliza Semler of West Bloomfield, Michigan; his parents, Bobbie Kalisz of Clinton Township, Michigan and Brad (Marti) Semler of Barlow, Kentucky; his brother, James (Nicole) Semler, of Randolph, New Jersey; his grandmother, Barbara Semler, of Lexington, Kentucky; and step-sister , Sarah ( Anthony) Baird, of Benton, Kentucky. Rob will also be forever remembered by his nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends. Hew was preceded in death by his grandfather, Philip Semler, and grandmother, Pauline Ploe. Memorial Services will be held at Morrow Funeral Chapel of LaCenter, Kentucky on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (crohnscolitisfoundaition.org) and or Boy Scouts Troop # 66 ( C/O John Wood, 250 S. 5th Street, Barlow, Kentucky 42024).
