Kevil, KY. Sonny Abernathy, age 70, died in LaCenter, KY. Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:20 p.m. He was a member of Oscar Baptist Church. Sonny loved to fish, hunt, and garden. He also, enjoyed playing the guitar. Sonny was survived by his wife Cheryl Abernathy of Kevil, KY. Two sons Steven H. Abernathy and his wife Amy of Bandana, KY. and Jason Costa of Kevil, KY. One daughter Carol Ann Miller and her husband Todd of Bandana, KY. Three brothers, Floyd Abernathy of Gage, KY., Louis Abernathy of Manhatten, Kansas, and Lynn Abernathy of LaCenter, KY., three sisters Barbara Scott of LaCenter, Ky. Rosie Turner of LaCenter, and Emma Brand of LaCenter, KY. Nine grandchildren, Ashley, Sonny Lane, Melody Joe, Hunter, Gunner, Koty, Cole, Lilly, and Devin. Several Nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Elva and Alvia Abernathy, two brothers and one sister. Visitation will be Friday, April 8, 2016, after 5:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY. Funeral Services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY. with the Rev. Ryan Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
