Mayfield, KY Theda Rose Whitlock, age 95, passed away on Monday morning, August 12, 2024. She was a resident at Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mayfield, KY. She was born September 19, 1928 in Hickman, KY to her late parents, Almus E. and Courtna (Dunn) Vaught.

Rose was a member of High Point Baptist Church in Mayfield. She loved her church family. In her earlier years she loved to travel. Rose loved to work in her flowers and read. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Rose lived in a close-knit group of neighbors in Davis Court which she loved dearly.

She is survived by a brother, Phillip Dunn Vaught of Sikeston, MO; a sister, Guelda Coffey of Paducah, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Whitlock; two sons, Thomas Glenn Whitlock and Jeffrey Vaught Whitlock; two brothers, Bob Vaught and Alden Vaught; two sisters Carolyn Wafford, Bonnie Kirk and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at High Point Baptist Church in Mayfield, KY with the Rev. Don Embry officiating.

Interment will follow at Hickman City Cemetery.
