Paducah, KY William Cownie, age 79, died on August 18, 2020 at Lourdes Mercy Hospital in Paducah, KY.

William was president of Four Rivers Mental Health for several years. He served as past vice-president of Paducah Chamber of Commerce. William had also served as president of the Home Builders Association of Kentucky. He was a long time member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ of Paducah, KY.

He is survived by four sons, William Cownie II of Kevil, KY, Dale Davis of Paducah, KY, Keith Davis of Paducah,KY, and Ken Davis of Paducah, KY. Four daughters, Lynne Cownie of Des Moines, Iowa, Sue Ellen Cownie of Calvert City, KY, Beth Loy of Paducah, KY, Dana Foerstner of Florida. One brother Frank Cownie of Des Moines, Iowa.  Sixteen grandchildren and

several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Cownie, a grandson, and his parents Charles T. and Ivadale Cownie.

Graveside Services will be Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah with the Rev. Richard Dobbs officiating. There will be no visitation.

Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter is handling arrangements.
