Kevil, KY - Charlie Lee Trice, age 93, passed away Monday March 20, 2023 at Life Care Center in LaCenter, Kentucky.
He was born February 19, 1930 in Kevil, KY to his parents, W.G. and Ida Terrell Trice. Charlie graduated from Barlow-Kevil High School in 1948. He was a member of Kevil United Methodist Church since 1940, where he served on the Church Administrative Board and as Sunday School Superintendent. He also served on the Paducah District Steward as youth counselor for Methodist Youth Fellowship. Charlie served on the Ballard County Health Board for 30 years and the Ballard County New Commonwealth Gas Board since 1995.
Charlie was chairman of Ballard County Wendell Ford for Governor Campaign. He was an Army veteran and served his country during the Korean War in the 24th Infantry Division from 1952-1954. Charlie also served on the Kevil City Council most of his life. His employment through the years, included Modine Manufacturing Company in Paducah from 1950-1973, Shelter Insurance from 1971-1985, and Lyles, Vasseur, and Trice Insurance from 1985-1995. Charlie retired in 1995 and enjoyed building furniture for family and friends that included hundreds of beautiful and functional pieces.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Yancey and her husband Michael of LaCenter, KY; two grandchildren, Kim Morris and her husband David of Kevil, KY and Kyle Yancey of Wickliffe, KY; two great grandchildren, Charley Leigh Morris and Tatum Kyle Yancey. He is also survived by his niece Susan (Steve) Wagner of Paducah, KY; his nephews Glen (Linda) Humphrey of Louisville, KY, Kenneth (Sue) Trice of Houston, TX, and Joe (Joyce) Trice of Greenwood, IN.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jean Ann Trice, his parents, his sister Grace Humphrey, and his brother Billy Ray Trice.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 after 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in Kevil, KY.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in Kevil with Rev. Stan Waldon officiating. Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
