Clara Mae (Allen) Middleton

Kevil, KY Clara Mae Middleton, age 93, of Kevil, Kentucky went to be with our Lord and Savior at 4 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Life Care Center of LaCenter, Kentucky. Clara was born May 15, 1929 in Bardwell, Kentucky and graduated from Bardwell High School in the class of 1946. She was married to Lawrence Middleton March 17, 1956. They moved to Louisville, Kentucky to find better work. She went to work for Schulman Electric and later Kroger in their Louisville Division Office. Clara and Lawrence moved back to Ballard County in 1959 where they would live and work on the family farm until 2022. Clara was a member of Kevil First Baptist Church where she had formerly served as a Sunday School teacher and pianist.

Her pride and joy were her family. She was a loyal fan of all their sporting events and activities. She loved to care for others by making and taking food, no matter the occasion. You couldn't visit her house without being fed some kind of treat, usually a sweet one.

She is survived by a son, Bob Allen Middleton and wife Trina; grandson, Jay Allen Middleton, and wife Ami, and three great- granddaughters, Collin Clare, Brady Jay, and Parker Bailey, all of Kevil.

Lawrence preceded her in death in August of 2022, after 66 years of marriage together. Clara was also preceded in death by her parents, Myatt and Ruby Tinsley Allen. Also preceded by a sister Ruby Jo George and brother-in-law Tom George.

The family wants to thank the staff of Life Care Center of LaCenter for their excellent care and service to Clara and Lawrence in their last year of life.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
