Kevil, KY Frances Rice Buchanan, age 81, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville,
TN.
Frances was born on December 28, 1937. She was a long time member of Bethel
Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Gage. She was involved in the following ministries;
Cumberland Presbyterian Women’s Group, Come to the Table, and Hospitality. Frances was a faithful prayer warrior. She was employed for 18 years and retired from serving as secretary for Tot Waldon-Susan Waldon Denton State Farm.
Frances had also been employed at Ballard County Senior Citizens and was a substitute teacher for Ballard
County School System. She was Co-Director for Amarillo Children’s Home.
She is survived by four sons; Mark Buchanan (Torrie) of Paducah, KY, Wade Buchanan (LouAnn) of Kevil KY, Russ Buchanan (Debbie) of Benton, KY and Brent Buchanan (Michelle) of West Paducah, KY. One daughter; Tamara Buchanan of Eddyville, KY.
Nine grandchildren; Ashlee (Chris) Gregory, Katee (Jared) Adams, Ross (McKenzie) Buchanan, Ryan (Sarita) Buchanan, Chase (Bailey),Buchanan, Thad Buchanan, Mikee Buchanan, Grady Buchanan and Raylee Buchanan. Six great grandchildren; Brently, Miller, Roree, Emoree, Annslee, and Brystol.
Two brothers; Charles Rice of Kevil, KY and Grady Hoy of Abilene, Texas, one sister; Sharon Dewey of Quinlan, Texas. A sister in law; Genice Cook of Collinsville, Oklahoma, two brother in laws, Tom Buchanan (Ruth Ann) of Eddyville, KY, and Larry Buchanan (Dwan) of Fredonia, TN, two sisters in law; Jean Glisson of Reidland, KY and Ann Reid (Mark) of Kevil, KY.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Bob Buchanan, one brother Zack Cook. Two sisters; Ocie Jaquess and Virginia Moore. Her parents were Aaron Moore and Myrtle Cochran.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Funeral Services will be at Saturday March 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Larry
Buchanan and Rev. Drew Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.
