James Robert ” Sarge” Bissett, 81, of Kevil Kentucky, passed away on February 28, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah. Jim was born on March 25, 1936 in Brown, West Virginia. He was born to the late Homer Graydon and Genevieve Lenore née Moore Bissett. Jim was a 25 year veteran of the United States Air Force where he first earned the nickname “Sarge.” He retired from ATO Chem in Calvert City in 2002 after 20 years and was owner of Bissett poultry farms for Pilgram's Pride since 1991. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to socialize and exercise with friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Bissett, a brother, Stanley Bissett, and sister Ethel Miller. He is survived by two sisters, Creta Lawson and Nina Suri both of Glen Bernie, Maryland, his children, James Robert Bissett, Jr. (Deborah) of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, Deborah (Anthony) Stoner of Kevil, Cindy (Alton) Bowerman of Kevil, and Steven Bissett of Kevil; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Monday, March 5, 2018 at St. Mary’s of the Fields Cemetery in La Center, KY with Brother Billie Prince officiating. There will be full Military Honors present. Friends may visit the family at 5:00 pm Sunday evening at Morrow Funeral Home in La Center, KY.
