Kevil, Ky, JoLee Smith, age 49, passed away at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center on August 17, 2025. She was born in Paducah, KY, on August 11, 1976, to Robert Lee Koehler and Katherine Gholson Brown.
JoLee was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #357 and was a part of the Olmsted Dam Project. She was a fabulous artist and could draw anything, but especially loved drawing horses. She loved animals, writing poetry and could be found outdoors any opportunity she got. Jolee was a believer. She was generous, free spirited and would give you the shirt off her back. Her old soul flowed over into her love for country music, especially Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Blake Shelton.
She is survived by her mother, Katherine Gholson Brown of Kevil, KY; one brother, Robert Kohler (Renee) of Reidland, KY; one sister, EmmaLee Cerbone of Kevil, KY; four nieces, Gracie Cerbone, Abbey Cerbone, Sydney Koehler and Anna Koehler; and one nephew, Waylon Wilson.
JoLee was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Gene Smith; her father, Robert Koehler; and grandparents, Loyd and Emma Gholson and Loyd and Betty Koehler.
Visitation Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Morrow Funeral Chapel from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
