LeWanda Hargrove Jett

Kevil, KY, LeWanda Hargrove Jett, age 94 passed away at her home Saturday, January 25, 2025. She was born in Bandana, KY on March 29, 1930, to her late parents, Elbert and Alma Anna Madding Hargrove.

LeWanda was a faithful member of Grace Church of LaCenter. She was a woman who had many hobbies and passions, but gardening, upholstering furniture and sewing were among the top. She loved to raise flowers in her garden and loved to quilt beautiful quilts and sew costumes. LeWanda sewed over 300 pillow covers this past year for Christmas and she labeled every one of them. She was a dedicated member of the Ballard County Homemakers Club where she also used her love for crocheting to teach children in 4-H how to crochet.

She loved to be outside enjoying Gods beauty and could be found pressure washing at any giving time. Every year for her birthday, she bought herself a new chainsaw. LeWanda will be remembered as an amazing cook by her family and friends. She also catered many weddings, making beautiful cakes. Her family meant the world to her, alongside her favorite 4 legged friend, Sus.

LeWanda is survived by two sons, Roger Jett (Kathy) of Boaz, KY, Bruce Jett (Lori) of Paducah, KY; two daughters, Vickie Jett of Kevil and Ronda Jett of Kevil; a brother Jerry Hargrove (Pearl) of Barlow, KY; a sister, Ruthie McCabe of Paducah, KY; six grandchildren, Michael Crawford, Garland Crawford, Kelly Crawford, Jeremy Jett, Justin Jett, and Jeffrey Jett; ten great grandchildren, Tony DeRose, Jordan Crawford, Molli Ann Crawford, Trey Jett, Callie Jett, Azlee Jett, Peyton Jett, Boone Jett, Brooks Jett, and Maddyx Jett; one great great grandchild, Knox De Rose.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, G. C, Jett, her second husband James Martin Crews; two brothers, four sisters, and her parents.

Visitation will be Monday, January 27, 2025, after 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Scott Speight and Cindy Englehardt officiating.

Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
