Mary Alice Stevens

LACENTER, KY: Mary Alice Stevens, age 87, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2017 at Life Care Center of LaCenter. She was born March 26, 1930 to Cecil and Lucy Childress Keaton.

Mary was employed by the Ballard County School System for many years where she taught and was Supervisor of Instruction. She was a member of Kentucky Education Association, National Education Association and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Bandana Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Terry K. (Elizabeth) Stevens of West Paducah, KY; three grandchildren, Darran Leon (Jennifer) Stevens of Barlow, Lindsey (Tyler) Webb of Kevil, and Lauren Hicks of West Paducah; and six great grandchildren, Keaton, Kori, Beau, Kaleb, Addyson, and Eli.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lucy Keaton; her husband, Jack Leon Stevens; one son, Gregory Leon Stevens; and two sisters, Juanita Shenosky and Margie Perry.

Visitation for Mary Stevens will be Thursday, November 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel of LaCenter. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday with the Rev. Bill Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
