Avery Carter

Lovelaceville, KY Avery Lucious Carter, age 95, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Mercy Health in Paducah, KY.  He was born on December 30, 1928, in Carlisle County to his late parents, Sherman and Ethel Hayes Carter.

Avery was of the Baptist faith.  He retired after many years of employment at TVA as a boiler maker.  In his free time he enjoyed bird hunting and riding his tractor while working around the farm.  His pride and joy was his dog, Buddy.

Avery is survived by a daughter, Teresa Campbell of West Paducah, KY; a son, Paul Carter of Paducah, KY; a sister, Shelby Gross of West Paducah, KY; two grandchildren, Scott Alan Campbell (Milo) and Stacey Kay Hayden (John); two great grandchildren, Crew Hudson Campbell and Sailor Cohen Tynes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carter, two sisters, Edith DeWeese, and Beatrice; three brothers, Noble Carter, Floyd Carter, Emmett Carter; a grandson, Christopher Alan and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, after 12:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with Rev. Bryan Phelps officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Blandville, KY.
