Carolyn Gordon

Oscar, KY Carolyn Gordon, age 88, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Life Care Center in LaCenter. She was born in Oscar, KY on December 13, 1934 to her late parents, Clarence and Lois Mandy Owsley.

Carolyn had a beautiful life, well lived. The good, the bad, the messy, the complicated, she lived her life to the fullest. Possibly the hardest working woman, that taught so many to be the same way. From driving farm equipment to cooking the most delicious southern food you could ever consume. Everyone always knew where they stood with her, but through it all she showed grace. She loved her family fiercely. She wasn't perfect but she was perfectly, Nanny. Chalon and her always had a big garden and shared the produce with family and many friends. Carolyn was a member of Oscar Baptist Church and also attended Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Chalon Gordon of Oscar, KY; three sons, Max Gordon (Shan) of Kevil, KY, Lynn Gordon (Ann) of Oscar, KY and Kent (Bonnie) of Oscar, KY; two daughters, Jeanne (Donnie) of South Fulton, TN and Laura Graves (Greg) of LaCenter, KY; twelve grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; three brothers, John Forest Cooper of LaCenter, KY, Ed Cooper (Dorothy Ann) of Oscar, KY and Tom Cooper of Clearwater, Florida.

Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Cooper; a sister, Dottie Pettigrew and her parents. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023 after 11:00 am at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with Rev. Ryan Baker officiating.

Interment will follow at Oscar Community Cemetery.
