Chalen Foster Gordon

Oscar, KY Chalen Foster Gordon, age 88, passed away on November 1, 2023 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center.

He was born July 19, 1935 to his parents A.O. and Ella Mae Gordon. He was a member of Oscar Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, song leader and Sunday school teacher. He loved music and sang with the "Singing Deacons" quartet for many years during the 60's and 70's. He always had a big garden and shared produce with family and friends. Chalen raised cattle, grew tobacco and farmed all of his life. Chalen loved going to auctions, but more importantly he loved his family.

Chalen is survived by three sons; Max (Shan) Gordon of Kevil, KY, Lynn (Ann) Gordon of Oscar, KY and Kent Gordon (Bonnie) of Oscar, KY; two daughters, Jeanne Cole (Donnie) of South Fulton, TN and Laura Graves (Greg) of LaCenter, KY; a brother Paul Gordon (Bernice) of Oscar, KY; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Carolyn Gordon; three brothers, Emmett Gordon, Bill Gordon, and Aubrey Gordon; two sisters, Bonnie Northington and Mary Alice Klutts and his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral Service will be Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with Rev. Ryan Baker officiating.

Interment will follow at Oscar Community Cemetery.
