Cheri Williams

Wickliffe, KY Cheri Williams, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Life Care Center in LaCenter. She was born April 21, 1957, in Keyser, West Virginia.

Cheri was formerly from West Virginia, where she loved the mountains. She moved to Ballard County where she was a graduate of Ballard Memorial High School. She then attended West Kentucky Community and Technical College where she obtained her Nursing Degree and became a nurse for the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center. In her free time, she enjoyed photography, arrowhead hunting, collecting genealogy, laser etching and all of her electronics. Cheri had a heart of determination no matter what she was doing in life and even taught herself how to play the banjo and guitar.

She is survived by one son, Jared Hargrove of Barlow, KY; her father, Oliver Smith of Paducah, KY; mother and stepfather, Helen and Frank Romaine of LaCenter, KY; one brother, Mike Smith of LaCenter, KY; one grandson, Colin Barkett of Biloxi, Mississippi; one stepdaughter, Teq Williams; one nephew, Craig Smith (Caroline) of Newburgh, Indiana; two great nieces, Claire and Charlotte Jo; one great nephew, Caleb; one step brother, Tim Romaine of Claremore, Oklahoma; and four step sisters, Susan Poore (Richard) of Reno, Nevada, Donna Wood of Bloomington, IN, Patty Stienhouse of Lovett, Texas and Kim Olive of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Cheri was preceded in death by her husband, George Mark Williams and stepmother, Betty Smith.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Oscar Community Cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m.
