Ell Edward Deweese

Kevil, KY Ell Edward Deweese, age 96, passed away at Baptist Health in Paducah Friday, July 19, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana of December 19,1927 to his late parents, Ell and Helen Franklin Deweese.

Ell was a member of Lovelaceville Baptist Church. He retired after 21 years of service to Westvaco, where he was employed as Foreman of the Woodyard and Crane Operator. He made several trips to Canada for Westvaco to purchase equipment. Ell also farmed all of his life and was an avid bird watcher, especially bluebirds. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by a son, Gary Deweese of Kevil, KY; a grandson, Gary Lynn Deweese Jr. (Kimberly) of Nevada, Missouri; a granddaughter Angel Hodges (Craig) of Nashville, TN; seven great grandchildren, Paul Hodges, Graci Hodges, Mattie Hodges, Mitchell Hodges, Alyssa Deweese, Rachel Deweese and Nolan Deweese.

Ell was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Joella Deweese, two sisters; Mary Helen Flournoy and Florence Elliott; a brother, Fred (Doodle) Deweese and his parents.

Graveside services were held on Monday, July 22,2024 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Blandville.
