Franklin D. Elrod

Kevil, KY Franklin D. Elrod, age 85, passed away early Sunday morning, May 1, 2022. He was born November 11, 1935 in Ragland, KY to his parents, John and Betty Elrod. Frank retired from the Army after 21 years of service. He served five tours in Vietnam with Green Beret Special Forces. He farmed in Ballard County for many years and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank was a fisherman and a hunter.

Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Elrod of Kevil, KY; two daughters; Holly Grifffin (Bill) of Kevil, Ky and Kim LaGore (Chuck) of Paducah, KY, four grandchildren; Zach Griffin (Alexa), Devin Griffin (Layken), Lane LaGore and Landon LaGore. Three great grandchildren; Ella Griffin, Levi Griffin and Lydia Griffin.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Elrod, two sisters; Charlotte House and Jeanette Adair and his parents.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with the Rev. Drew Gray officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2022 after 11:00 am at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter.
