Frieda Johnston

Barlow, KY, Frieda Johnston, age 71, passed away on April 3, 2025, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center. She was born on July 18, 1953, in Cairo, Illinois to her late parents, Harold Blankenship and Dorothy Nell Norment.

Frieda loved many things, but most of all she adored her family. She enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time. Frieda loved her dogs, and she thoroughly enjoyed watching hummingbirds.

She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Jo Worley (David) of Barlow and Kayla McCain of Barlow; two sisters, Sharon Wilson (Brett) of Barlow and Helen Blankenship (Pete) of Wickliffe; six grandchildren, Gina Rene Worley, Brittany Ringstaff, David Michael Worley, Adriana Worley, Breana Worley and Somer Pennebaker; seven great-grandchildren, Gannon Caneer, Jourdyn Worley, Jaelyn Worley, Jemma Worley, Aubriella Haws, Cason Ringstaff and Dallas Rushing.

Frieda was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Michael Johnston; one sister, Della Johnson; three brothers, James Blankenship, Leslie Blankenship and Ricky Blankenship and her parents.

Visitation Service will be held at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter on Sunday, April 6, 2025, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until funeral time.

Funeral Service will be held at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Julie Woods officiating.

Graveside Service will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Barlow Cemetery.
