Glen Thomas Choate, age 82 of Bardwell, KY passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Baptist Health of Paducah.
He was a member of the Mississippi Baptist Church in Bardwell, Ky and retired as Manager of Hickman Fulton County Rural Electric after 36 years of employment. Glen spent most of his time playing golf, coon hunting and riding horses. So much that he even was asked to be a judge for The National Racking Horse Association. He filled many roles in his lifetime including being the Deputy Sheriff of Carlisle County for several years. Glen graduated from the last class to attend Hickman High School and went on to spend seven years with the National Guard.
Glen is survived by his wife of 55 years Gloria Jean Choate of Bardwell, KY; four sons, Malcolm Thomas of Bangor, Maine, Charles Martin Choate and wife April of Hickman, KY, David Shawn Thomas and wife Dorothy Lee of Hickman, KY and Terry Glen Choate and wife Bridgette of Bardwell, KY; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Choate of Hickman, KY; two sisters, Sharon Sturgon and husband Paul of Hickman, KY and Rhonda Everett and husband Chuck of Hickman, KY; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Choate; one sister Ernestine Rogers and one brother John Choate.
Visitation for Glen will be Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Mississippi Baptist Church in Bardwell, KY from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Mississippi Baptist Church in Bardwell, KY beginning at 1 p.m. Visitation will begin that morning at 10 a.m. till funeral time. Rev. Shane Davenport will officiate and interment will follow at Hickman City Cemetery. Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter is handling arrangements.
