John Joseph McCormick Jr.

Wickliffe, Ky, John Joseph McCormick Jr, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, January, 15, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1951 in Beaumont, Texas to his parents, John McCormick Sr and Grace Anderson McCormick.

John will be remembered as a very generous and kind man. He loved helping others and devoted most of his spare time serving others. John was a graduate of Lamar University where he obtained his masters degree in accounting. He was an active member at Grace Church of LaCenter where he served on many different boards and was one of the directors of the after school program he created, Quest. He loved helping those in need and at their lowest moments. He had also served in jail ministry for several years. John loved fishing and loved watching sports, especially his alma mater. Most of all, John loved spending time with his grandchildren who he loved and adored very much.

John is survived by one son, John McCormick III and Mallory of West Paducah; three sisters, Patsy Wheat of Texas, Carolyn Boykin of Texas, and Cathy McCormick of Texas; three grandchildren, Grace McCormick, Hallie Kate McCormick and Ella Michelle McCormick.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be held at Grace Church of LaCenter on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tyler Bird and Rev. John Carroll officiating.
