Joyce Ann Benton

Kevil, KY Joyce Ann Benton, age 77, passed away on Saturday, November 16 at Life Care Center in LaCenter, KY. She was born April 16, 1947, in Eldridge, Alabama to her late parents, Wilburn and Ada Heathcock McWhirter.

Joyce was a faithful and devoted member of "Mothers Against Drunk Drivers." She was previously employed by Central Service, American Tire and Plastics and Kevil BP. Joyce was a phenomenal cook and took wonderful care of her children and grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Life Care of LaCenter who took wonderful care of Mrs. Joyce for the past few years.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George Benton of Kevil; two sons, James Benton of Kevil, KY and Chris Benton (Michelle) of Kevil, KY; one daughter, Lesley Rushing (Shawn) of Kevil; one brother, Travis McWhirter of Alabama; six grandchildren, Nicole Donoho, Hunter Benton, Tiffany Benton, Teanna Hamilton, Trevon Rushin, Preston Rushing; and seven great grandchildren with one more on the way.

Joyce was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Benton; two brothers, Slim McWhirter, Hubert McWhirter, a sister, Inez Tidwell and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY from 5-8 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Neal Eidson officiating.
