Juanita Christine (Stewart) Tharp

In loving memory of Juanita Christine Stewart Tharp born on April 11th, 1928, in Gage, KY and peacefully passed away on January 14th, 2024, in Weeki Wachee, FL.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and kindness. Juanita grew up in Ballard County, KY and later married the love of her life, James Roy Tharp. They made their home for many years in Miami, FL where she began her accomplished career with the Kmart Corporation from which she retired as an executive after 32 years of dedicated service. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church on Gum Corner in Wickliffe, KY. She created many cherished memories through her love of travel and spending time with her family and friends.

Juanita is survived by her devoted children; Roy Tharp (Gloria), Ouida Tharp Rice (Lyn), Wayde Tharp (Marcy). Her loving grandchildren; Brian Tharp (Jill) Andrew Rice (Gloria), Jena Tharp-Tittle (Robbie), Eric Rice (Siera), Daniel Tharp (Diana), Caitlin Tharp Bowers (Edward). Her, adored great grandchildren, Jake, Austin, April, and Taylor Tharp, Owen and Annsley Tittle, Peyton, Emmett, and Callen Rice, and Copeland Bowers. Sister; Mary Etta Stewart Tilford, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Together, they carry on her memory and the love she shared with them.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, James Roy Tharp, her children Deleta Janice and James Daniel Tharp, her parents, James Owen and Lucille Long Stewart, brothers, James and Charles Stewart, sister, Edith Louise Risk. May they all find eternal peace, reunited in the embrace of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Funeral services to be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center, KY. The family will receive visitors from 11am- 2pm with funeral services to follow at 2pm to honor Juanita’s memory with Jerry Dunn officiating.

Interment will be held immediately following the services at Barlow Cemetery. Your presence and support during these moments are deeply appreciated by the family.
