Karen Denise Armstrong

Barlow, KY Karen Armstrong, age 61, known to her family as "Sissy" passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Karen graduated from Ballard Memorial High School in 1982 and later earned her master’s degree from Murray State University. She worked as a Special Education Teacher for many years and was a devoted member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, where she also played the piano. Known for her heart of gold and love for helping others, she cherished time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed listening to the Gaither Vocal Band, reading, and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Catherine Armstrong of LaCenter, KY, a son, Cody Armstrong of Nashville, TN, a brother, Stan Armstrong of LaCenter, KY a sister Leigh Ann Green (Kevin) of LaCenter, KY and a cousin, who was a like a sister, Pam Diebold of West Paducah, KY.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Don Armstrong.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery beginning at 4:00 p.m.
