Larry Atherton

LaCenter, KY Larry Atherton, age 63, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023 at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, KY.

He was born December 20, 1959 in Dearborn, Michigan to his parents, Norman and Rose Julia Tomlin Atherton. Larry was a member of Southland Baptist Church. He was a talented machinist and was employed at Southside Machine Shop for 25 years. He enjoyed working with machines and was a wonderful brother, dad and Pop.

Larry is survived by a son, Mitchell Atherton (Paula) of Champaign, Il; a daughter, Jessica Stokes (Mason Baker) of Kevil, KY; a bonus daughter, Stephanie Young of Paducah, KY; a brother, David Atherton (Dawn) of Milledgeville, TN; two sisters, Cheryl Scott (Eddie) of LaCenter, KY and Missy O'Connor (Bob) of Carlisle County; six grandchildren, Austin Atherton, Lexi Atherton, Katie Duncan, Madison Stokes, Riley Stokes and Connor Baker; two bonus grandsons, Chevy Trover and Bristol Trover; a bonus great grandson, Hudson Trover.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Tammy Atherton; second wife, Mona Atherton; a son, Michael Atherton and his parents.

Visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter, KY with Rev. Jimmy Franks and Rev. Greg Jones officiating.

Interment will follow at LaCenter Cemetery.
