Lena (Lynch) Quarles

Kevil, KY Lena Quarles, age 82, passed away at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, KY on Sunday April 30, 2023. Lena was born in Kevil, KY on March22, 1941, a daughter of the late, James Stanley and Dorothy Naomi (Solomon) Lynch.

She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Lena was Custodian at Kevil Elementary School for several years and later retired from USEC as an escort. Lena was a member of Ceredo Homemakers. Her hobbies were fishing, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling and took pride in mowing her own yard. Lena adored her family especially her three sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Tommy Quarles (Angela) of Kevil, Terry Quarles (Donna) of Kevil, and Gary Quarles(Rhonda) of Kevil; four grandchildren, Alysia Myatt, Terris Wood, Brandon Quarles, and Sarah Quarles; four great grandchildren, Parker Wood, Laken Wood, Eli Wood and Leeam Myatt; a sister Bertricia Goodrum of Muhlenberg County.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Carroll Quarles, the father who raised her, James Gibson, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in LaCenter.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in LaCenter with Rev. Emmanuel Udoh officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery.
